Is mercury flammable?

Mercury is non-combustible. The agent itself does not burn, but it may react upon heating to produce corrosive and/or toxic fumes.

Is mercury malleable or ductile?

Mercury is classified as a "Transition Metal" as it is ductile, malleable, and is able to conduct heat and electricity.

Whats is mercury?

Mercury is a naturally occurring element found in air, water and soil. A highly toxic form (methylmercury) builds up in fish, shellfish and animals that eat fish. Fish and shellfish are the main sources of methylmercury exposure to humans.

What is mercury made of?

Mercury is a rocky planet with a huge iron core which makes up a large part of its interior. The core takes up nearly 3/4 of the planet's diameter. Mercury's iron core is about the size of the moon. Iron makes up about 70% of Mercury's total weight making Mercury the most iron-rich planet in the Solar System.

Does mercury dissolve gold?
