What is bubbled and gate?
Sophia Bowman Bubbled AND gate: The AND gate with inverted inputs is called as Bubbled AND gate which is also called as negative AND gate. NOR logic - Wikipedia
What is the bubble in NAND gate?
The NAND gate represents the complement of the AND operation. Its name is an abbreviation of NOT AND. The graphic symbol for the NAND gate consists of an AND symbol with a bubble on the output, denoting that a complement operation is performed on the output of the AND gate.
Which gate is equal to bubbled OR gate?
The NOT gates are to be added to the inputs of AND gate, it will give the NOR gate output. Because, bubbled AND gate will acts as a NOR gate. Therefore, bubbled NAND gate is equivalent to OR gate.
What does a bubble at the end of a gate mean?
The “bubble” (o) present at the end of the NOT gate symbol above denotes a signal inversion (complementation) of the output signal. But this bubble can also be present at the gates input to indicate an active-LOW input. ... The easiest way is to think of the bubble as simply an inverter.
What is the AND gate rule?
The AND gate is a basic digital logic gate that implements logical conjunction (∧) from mathematical logic – it behaves according to the truth table above. A HIGH output (1) results only if all the inputs to the AND gate are HIGH (1). If none or not all inputs to the AND gate are HIGH, LOW output results.

XOR gate (sometimes EOR, or EXOR and pronounced as Exclusive OR) is a digital logic gate that gives a true (1 or HIGH) output when the number of true inputs is odd. An XOR gate implements an exclusive or ( ) from mathematical logic; that is, a true output results if one, and only one, of the inputs to the gate is true.
What is the basic gate?
All digital systems can be constructed by only three basic logic gates. These basic gates are called the AND gate, the OR gate, and the NOT gate. Some textbooks also include the NAND gate, the NOR gate and the EOR gate as the members of the family of basic logic gates.
How do you push bubbles?
Bubble pushing is a technique to apply De Morgan's theorem directly to the logic diagram.- Change the logic gate (AND to OR and OR to AND).
- Add bubbles to the inputs and outputs where there were none, and remove the original bubbles.
How many transistors are in a NOT gate?
A NOT gate is 1 transistor. A NAND gate is 1 transistor per input.
What is the only function of NOT gate?
A NOT gate performs logical negation on its input. In other words, if the input is true, then the output will be false. Similarly, a false input results in a true output. The truth table for a NOT gate appears to the right.
What is result of bubbled OR gate?
A bubbled OR gate is the combination of two NOT gates and one OR gate. That is, the output of two NOT gates is made as input of OR gate. ... (Hint: A = 0, B = 1 then A and B inputs of second NOR gate will be 0 and hence Y = 1.
Which gate is equal to or inverter?
The NOR gate is equal to the combination of the OR gate and the inverter. Both are given the same output, but the efficient way is NOR gate because it is a single gate but the combination of the OR gate and an inverter is two gates, so NOR gate is more efficient.
Which gate Cannot be used as an inverter?
Therefore we can implement any gate by using either NAND or NOR gate. X-NOR gate will acts as an inverter when one of the inputs is low. Therefore, NAND, NOR and X-NOR gates can be used as inverter. The output of AND gate is high when all inputs are high and output of AND gate is low when any one of the inputs is low.
What is buffer gate?
The Buffer Gate is a logic block that takes any input and compares the value to 0. If the input signal is zero, the output will be zero. ... This block is not an audio buffer; this block follows the gate logic of a buffer which acts as a double inversion.
What are NAND gates used for?
What are NAND gates used for? NAND gates help detect if a single input to a digital system has gone low. For example, a simple security system consisting only of NAND gates could be used to monitor the status of sensors connected to windows and/or doors.
What are Demorgan's theorems?
De Morgan's Theorem, T12, is a particularly powerful tool in digital design. The theorem explains that the complement of the product of all the terms is equal to the sum of the complement of each term. ... According to De Morgan's theorem, a NAND gate is equivalent to an OR gate with inverted inputs.
What is electrical transistor?
A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify or switch electrical signals and power. The transistor is one of the basic building blocks of modern electronics. It is composed of semiconductor material, usually with at least three terminals for connection to an electronic circuit.
Which logic family is fastest?
Emitter-coupled logic (ECL) is a BJT-based logic family which is generally considered as the fastest logic available.
What logic gate is a transistor?
The simplest family of logic gates uses bipolar transistors, and is called resistor–transistor logic (RTL). Unlike simple diode logic gates (which do not have a gain element), RTL gates can be cascaded indefinitely to produce more complex logic functions. RTL gates were used in early integrated circuits.
How do gates work?
"In a computer, a gate controls the flow of electric current through a circuit. The gate consists of transistors; the transistors are selected by the chip designer from two basic types (PMOS and NMOS transistors) that are found in the ubiquitous CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) technology.
What is or gate in physics?
OR gate: The OR gate is defined as a digital logic gate in which if both the inputs are low then then the output is also low whereas if both the inputs are high or in fact if one input is high the output will be high only.
What type of IC is 7400?
The first part number in the series, the 7400, is a 14-pin IC containing four two-input NAND gates. Each gate uses two input pins and one output pin, with the remaining two pins being power (+5 V) and ground.
What is the expression of an EXOR gate?
XOR Gate Equivalent Circuit
The EX-OR gate is defined as a hybrid logic gate with 2 inputs to perform the Exclusive Disjunction operation. From the above calculations, the main Boolean Expression of XOR gate is: A B + A B. So, the XOR circuit with 2 inputs is designed using AND, OR and NOT gates as shown below.
